The Biggest Controversies Of The First Half Of 2017

We all know that Bollywood will and always be surrounded by controversies. There is no way in any matter that a celebrity can avoid being in a controversial situation. Some of the controversies which had created a whirl in the industry are:

1. Mira Rajput’s comment on Motherhood:

Mira was first seen with husband Shahid Kapoor in Koffee with Karan and everyone appreciated her poise and self-presentation, despite her being from the Bollywood industry. But the first time she made a public appearance without her husband; she totally messed up and created a huge chaos.

Mira commented, “I had a tough pregnancy, I went to those 5 months of difficult times to bring my daughter into this world, in fact, both of us together (Shahid Kapoor and she). So now I want to spend every moment that I can with her. I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work, why did I have her? She is not a puppy; I want to be there for her as a mother.” 

Most people thought it was a dig at her husband’s ex – girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

2. Abhay Deol on several Actors for promoting Fairness Products:

Actor Abhay Deol lashed at all the Bollywood stars (like Shahrukh, Yami Gautam, John Abraham) who promoted fairness creams. While his stand was praised by a lot of people there were some who objected it too. In fact, Sonam and Abhay indulged in an argument over it. But later it was all sorted.

3. Lipstick under my Burkha:

Nihalani in an interview had said, “The story is lady oriented and talks about their fantasy. There are continuous sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society, hence film refused.”

With the movie getting an A certificate it created a lot of controversies.

4. Quote of Salman Khan:

Salman during his promotion of Tubelight commented “People who order war should be asked to go to war themselves. Take this gun and go to war. (They will realise it) and it will get over in a day. They will tremble and shake and they will eventually take the route of dialogues and discussions. (“Haath pair kaapne lagg jaaye nge. Ek hi din mein war khatam ho jaae ga. Iske baad table ke saamne  baith kar baatcheet hogi”.)

His answer led to a whole new unnecessary controversy.

5. Akshay Kumar and his National Award for Rustom:

Many people were unhappy when Akshay Kumar received an award for Rustom to which he replied, “I’ve been seeing this from past 25 years, whenever anyone wins, becomes the topic of discussion. So it’s nothing new to me. Always there are people who create the controversy, ‘he shouldn’t have got it, that person should’ve..’. (Laughs) It’s okay, I’ve got it after 26 years if you want it to take it back. If you want to”.
