Hundreds Of Strangers From The Internet Just Met At Connaught Place To Scream "Bol Na Aunty Aau Kya"

Late in 2015, a rapper by the name of Omprakash Mishra released "Aunty Ki Ghanti" – a song about a young man infatuated by the titular "aunty" in his neighbourhood.

While the video received an initial boost from YouTubers making fun of it (including huge ones like CarryMinati) it largely stayed buried in a dark corner of the internet for a long while.

That was until earlier this year, when Indian cringepop was thrust into the mainstream by one Dhinchak Pooja.

As Facebook humour pages rushed to find the next viral cringepop sensation, rapper Omprakash was unearthed once again, swiftly becoming the biggest meme of the past couple of months.

The chorus, which goes "Bol Na Aunty Aau Kya", has now joined "Selfie Maine Le Li Aaj" as the millennial anthem of the year.

In fact, it's become such an anthem, someone actually organised an event in New Delhi and invited the "Rap King's" fans to gather and scream "Bol Na Aunty Aau Kya" in the middle of Connaught Place earlier today.

But then, at around 6:30 p.m., Connaught Place was taken over by the Rap King's biggest fans, as chants of "Bol Na Aunty Aau Kya" engulfed one of the capital's busiest hotspots.

In case you don't believe it, I implore you to check out this video that compiles all the madness in one place:
