Facts You Didn't Know About Steve Jobs and Apple


When asked why he had named his company Apple, he said: "Because it came before Atari in the phone book." Jobs worked for Atari before starting Apple and he also said that he likes apples and that they had to come up with a name by 5 o'clock that day.

He was adopted

His biological father, Abdulfattah Jandali, grew up in Syria and met his biological mother, Joanne Schieble at the University of Wisconsin. At the age of 23, they both thought it was too young to marry and having a child out of wedlock was unconventional so they gave their baby to Steve's adoptive parents, Paul and Clara. They raised him on the promise that he would go to college.
Before starting Apple, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak built and sold digital blue 
boxes, a $100 equipment that could hack telephone systems and allowed them make calls to any number in the world. One of their first calls they made using the blue box was to the Vatican with Wozniak pretending to be Henry Kissinger, they asked to talk to the pope. Without success.




Steve Jobs, Employee #0 At Apple


 Steve was one of the most competitive employees ever!
When Steve Wozniak was named employee #1, Steve worked so hard to beat him at the game, that until he was named employee #0 he was not satisfied!

 His biological parents went on to have another child, Mona Simpson, whom he later met and connected with.

 At the tender age of 12, Jobs asked William Hewlett, co-founder of Hewlett-Packard for some parts to complete a school project. Hewlett offered Jobs an internship at his company.

Jobs met Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in high school when Jobs was 13 and Wozniak was  Steve had a brief fling with Joan Boaz, the folk singer back in his hippie days. Unfortunately though, she left him for his favorite musician – Bob Dylan.

  It's quite easy to fall into the mistake of thinking that the at the creation of Apple, now one of the top two largest companies in the world, the founders were these amazing visionaries filled with conviction of success and their ability to change the world with the product they had created. Well, it certainly wasn't the case with Apple. In fact, both Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were pretty certain of how improbable were their chances of success. "We won't see the money we've invested in back," said Wozniak. Jobs replied: "Yeah, we'll lose our money, but at least we will be able to say we had a company."

The Origin Of Apple


 It is a known fact for most of us that Apple was co-founded by Steve jobs and his college dropout friend, Steve Wozniak, in Steve’s family garage.
However, what is a surprise is that, according to some, Steve Jobs named his company Apple after being inspired by the Beatles ‘Apple Records’, who started using this name in the 1960s. A legal battle pursued and both parties settled the case in 2007.Other sources, and probably more close to the truth, say that Apple was so named because Jobs was coming back from an apple farm and he got the inspiration there. Steve Jobs said that the name Apple sounded like “fun, spirited and not intimidating”.

Steve Jobs’ Fortune Comes (Also) From His Stake in Disney


 Not most of us know that Steve Jobs was the largest shareholder in The Walt Disney Company, after he purchased Pixar for $10m in 1986 (i.e. $5 million for George Lucas and 5$ million cash for the company) and sold it back in 2006 to The Walt Disney Company at a valuation of around $7.4 billion.
Steve Jobs is also the savior of the movie ‘Toy Story’ because without his intervention, Woody was scripted to be a bad guy!
Jobs never used license plates on the silver Mercedes SL55 AMG he always drove.
